Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel

Hi everyone!
So this post is about a product that I purchased about a week ago, but I like it so much that I already feel the need to write a review about it!!
The Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel is literally "SUPER"! I had a breakout across my chin due to the fact that I'd decided to try out a new primer... and it was THE WORST! (Review coming up later...!) The spots were literally all around my chin and they were the type that stay under the skin for ages! PLUS they showed no signs of disappearing even after 2 weeks!!

If you know me personally, you will know I suffered from acne since the age of 14. I tried every single treatment - pills, creams, lotions - that ever existed but nothing worked! Then I was finally put on Roaccutane 2 years ago for the full course of treatment (8 months - some people will only need 3/4 months, maximum of 8). At the time, I hated these pills, due to the fact that my skin became so dry and itchy and I could only use E45 and Eucerin creams as everything else burned like crazy! I also used a whole tin of Vaseline each month on my lips (so that's 8 tins in total - the green aloe vera one worked the best for me, the original blue one seemed to make my lips drier!) But, as they say, "no pain, no gain!" and now I usually only suffer from the odd spot here and there. (OR IF I USE A REALY BAD FACE PRIMER!!!)
Anyways... I bought the Origins Super Spot Remover to see if it would make these annoying spots disappear, as I'd heard positive reviews about it. On the box, it says to use 2-3 times a day and then to reduce the amount if your skin gets too dry. I tried it the first night before I went to sleep, and I noticed that when it dries, it makes that area feel quite tight; like it's forming a seal around the spot. I didn't mind this, as I was going to be sleeping anyway, but I wouldn't recommend using it in the morning unless you're staying home; some people might not mind the feeling, though. I continued to use it for 2 nights and I noticed the spot had reduced in size dramatically and it was much less red than before! However, you MUST..I repeat..  MUST make sure that you only apply this gel to the actual spot itself (preferably with a q-tip/cotton bud) as any area that comes into contact with this gel a few times will turn quite dry. I used my finger to apply it and I noticed after 2 days that the skin just around the spot was a bit dry. It's not really an issue - moisturiser fixed the problem right away - but if you have quite a few breakouts on your face, just take care with application. My skin is quite dry anyways (thanks to Roaccutane), so I think that's why it went like that quickly. If you have oily skin, you could possibly get away with not being so careful, as your skin will already have excess moisture in it.

The product is a clear, slightly watery gel, and you will notice a cooling sensation when you apply it to your skin. After a few moments, it will dry and form a "seal" around the blemish. The bottle is a simple, small, green-coloured plastic bottle, which you squeeze to get the product out. The pictures above show how much of the gel comes out with one squeeze.
I've also shown a picture of how the spot looks like now after only 2 uses - it's still slightly under the skin, but it is much smaller in size, less red and not painful - but unfortunately, I totally forgot to take a picture of how it looked before! However, you can see in the picture below that there is another spot above it which I did not treat with this gel, and although that is smaller anyway, it is redder and more raised when compared with the treated one underneath.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this product to ANYONE and EVERYONE who is prone to breakouts, and even though the bottle is so small, I know it will last AGES, as you only need to use the tiniest amount each time!
Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel is available worldwide at Origins counters and online. (RRP: £13)

    1. Thank you so much!

I've never seen Dr. Spot here actually! I love Soap & Glory products and they always do exactly what they claim (plus they usually smell soo good!!)

I think this Origins one will do the same for normal spots, but because the one I treated was the annoying kind that's under the skin and takes a while to actually come to the surface, it's taken a bit longer.

I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for the Dr Spot now!! Thank you!!

      Xoxo,
